DOUBLE is a snap-in PMMA cover for LUMINES LED profiles, here in the milky-frosted finish and a one-metre length. It is not a decorative extra: the cover decides what the light coming out of the profile looks like, and this variant does more to it than any other in the range. Milky and frosted at once LUMINES makes DOUBLE covers in seven finishes: transparent, clear, frosted, milky, milky-frosted, opal and black. This article is the milky-frosted one — it combines a matted surface with milky pigment in the material, so it diffuses in two stages. The result is that looking straight at the profile you see no individual diodes even close up, and the lit line is even along its whole length. The price is paid in output: the stronger the diffusion, the more light stays inside the cover. If maximum efficiency is what you need, the transparent version is the right choice; if an unbroken line without dots is, this one is. PMMA, not polycarbonate The cover is made from PMMA — acrylic. Compared with polycarbonate, PMMA is harder, more scratch-resistant and less prone to yellowing under UV, but more brittle in bending. For straight runs installed once and left alone, it is the right material. The same DOUBLE shape is also offered in polycarbonate as the Fractal versions. Which profiles it fits The DOUBLE cover is shared across a group of LUMINES profiles: SILEDA, inSILEDA, DILEDA, inDILEDA, UNICO, DOPIO, DULIO, TALIA, inTALIA, ZATI, SUBLI, LOGI, CONVA. Check the cover designation on your own profile's data sheet before ordering — profiles in one family share a snap-fit shape, but covers from other series (BASIC, COMPACT) are not interchangeable. Fitting and lengths The cover slides or snaps into the profile from above, with no tools; it is cut to length with an ordinary hacksaw or a craft knife once the protective film is peeled off. Beyond the one-metre version, LUMINES supplies the same cover in 2.02 m and 3 m.
