NEIVA is a low garden bollard just 20 cm tall and 11 cm across, in a brown finish the manufacturer calls COFFEE. It has an integrated LED module and an IP65 rating. 20 cm – light underfoot, not in the eyes This is not a lantern and is not meant to be one. At that height the fitting lights the surface immediately around it: the edge of a path, a step, the border of a bed, the join between paving and lawn. Walking the path you do not look at the source, you look at lit ground – and that is the whole difference between orientation and glare. A row of these draws the route rather than flooding the garden. 402 lumens is deliberately modest The 5 W module gives 402 lm. For comparison, an old 40 W incandescent is around 470 lm – so one bollard puts out roughly what a 40-watt bulb did. In a garden that is the right scale: after dusk the eye is dark-adapted and this much light is enough to move safely. Anything stronger turns a garden into a car park. Warm 3000 K 3000 K is warm white – preferred outdoors for two reasons. First it looks natural against greenery and timber, where cold light reads bluish and clinical. Second, warm light attracts fewer insects than light rich in blue, which you notice directly in summer. IP65 – rain, sprinkler, pressure washing The first digit 6 means fully dust-tight, the second 5 resistance to a jet of water from a nozzle in any direction. In practice: the fitting survives a downpour, automatic irrigation, and having the paving pressure-washed beside it. That is the minimum for anything standing in a garden all year. Construction and supply The body combines aluminium with plastic – aluminium carries heat away from the diode and does not rust, while the plastic handles the parts that must be non-conductive and UV-stable. The light source is integrated and supplied with the fitting – there is no bulb to buy. Mains supply 230 V; the fitting is not dimmable. Net weight 1 kg.
