Vasa 5019 is a cast-aluminium outdoor wall light, powder-coated in black RAL 9005. It draws 8.3 W and delivers 668 lm at 4000 K, rated IP65 with an IK08 impact rating. IP65 and IK08 — two different kinds of toughness These two ratings describe different things and both matter here. **IP65** means fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets: the fitting takes downpours, snow and a pressure wash. **IK08** is mechanical resistance to a 5-joule impact — roughly a football, or a branch in a gale. On a fitting mounted on a facade, in a passage or beside an entrance, the second figure often matters more than the first, and it is rarely quoted. The diffuser is UV-stabilised polycarbonate, which does not yellow in sunlight the way ordinary acrylic does. Dimming and loop-through wiring Vasa is **dimmable**, which on a facade fitting allows the output to be cut in the middle of the night rather than switching the light off altogether. The terminals take cable up to 3×2.5 mm², and the manufacturer explicitly allows **loop-through connection** with up to 3×1.5 mm² — running the supply from one fitting to the next without a junction box at each. On a row of wall lights along a facade or a driveway that is real labour saved. The EPDM gland accepts round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. Mounting and service life There are two ways to fix it: through an intermediate plate with two 5×10 mm adjustment slots at 45 mm spacing, which lets the position be corrected after drilling, or directly through two ø5 mm holes at 68 mm spacing. The manufacturer states 70,000 hours and a temperature range of −20 to +45 °C. Norlys gives five years on the fitting and, separately, a **twenty-five-year anti-corrosion warranty** on the coating.
