CAMELEON CABLE E27 1.5 M BLACK / CHROME suspension
Cameleon Cable E27 is a suspension, not a complete lamp: a black cord 1.5 m long ending in an E27 lampholder in a chrome housing. It is one of the three parts from which a finished pendant is assembled in the Cameleon system. How the Cameleon system works Nowodvorski split the pendant lamp into separately bought parts: the ceiling canopy, the suspension — this product — and the shade or fitting. The same cord can therefore be paired with dozens of shades in different shapes, materials and colours, and years later only the shade need change, leaving the wiring alone. The canopy also gathers several suspensions at one ceiling point — hence the multi-point compositions over a table or island. What exactly you are buying The box contains the cord with an E27 lampholder. There is no shade, no ceiling canopy and no bulb, and the maker also notes that a mounting kit is not included. Before ordering, add up the whole: suspension + canopy + shade + light source. E27 socket up to 25 W, LED only The maker gives a maximum of 25 W "only LED". That limit follows from the construction of the lampholder and cord — do not fit older incandescent or halogen lamps of higher wattage. At 25 W of LED you have sources of around 2500–3000 lm available, more than a typical lamp over a table needs; in practice 806 lm (the 60 W equivalent) is usually enough. The lamp is replaceable and not included. In older buildings, where the ceiling box holds only two cores, that often decides whether a given lamp can be fitted at all without rewiring. 1.5 metres — how much of it is left A 150 cm cord gives enough for a typical drop over a table (from a 2.6 m ceiling to a lower shade rim about 70–80 cm above the top) and lets the excess be tucked into the canopy. Remember that the drop is measured including the shade — with a large, tall shade the effective cord length is shorter than simple arithmetic suggests.
