Halmstad 1407BL is a low bollard light with a square 12 × 12 cm section, standing 49 cm tall. The body is impregnated Scandinavian pine, and the steel parts are hot-dip galvanised and then powder-coated in black (RAL 9005). In the head, an opal PMMA diffuser glows behind horizontal louvres. Where a 49 cm bollard belongs At 49 cm the head sits low, so the light falls on a path, garden steps or the edge of a flower bed rather than at the eye level of passers-by. The base takes up a 12 × 12 cm square, which fits even a narrow strip between paving and lawn. What kind of light it gives The built-in Philips Fortimo LED module with an electronic driver draws 8.5 W. The source itself produces 1059 lm, but 292 lm leave the luminaire, because the louvres and the opal diffuser hold part of it back. That is orientation light: it marks the line of a path, the edge of a terrace or an entrance, but it will not light the whole garden. 3000 K is a warm white, and CRI 80 is the colour rendering typical of outdoor lighting. The light is open and only partly shielded from above, so it spreads mainly sideways. 47% of the output goes above the horizontal (ULOR) – where rules limit light emitted towards the sky, check this figure. The luminaire dims on a TRIAC phase dimmer, either trailing edge or leading edge. Installation, wiring and service The bollard is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a 65 mm circle. Nothing for fixing it into the ground is in the box: Norlys sells the concreting anchor 205ZX0010, the ground anchor 206GA0010, the concrete-foundation adapter 206GA0S10 and the mounting adapters 3086GA0009 and 3080GA0009 separately. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm² and let the supply loop on to the next fitting, and the cable may be up to ø12.5 mm. Protection Class II means no protective earth is needed. IP65 lets the bollard stand outdoors with no shelter, and impact resistance IK10 is the top class on that scale. It is rated for −20 to +45 °C, with an L80 lifetime above 50,000 hours for the LED module and 50,000 hours for the driver.
