Bulb for PORSCHE 944 968 Digital Clock Outside Temperature Display
Bulb for PORSCHE 944 968 Digital Clock Outside Temperature Display The right bulbs for your Porsche Description: This bulb is used in the digital clocks of the 944/968CS as well as in the outside temperature displays of the 968. If the clock's illumination is too dim, you will notice that the brightness has noticeably diminished over the years when installing this authentic bulb. The replacement is quick and easy; instructions can be found further down in this product description. Note: There are many bulbs with similar bases and different wattages. Other bases will not fit, and incorrect wattages can cause the reflector to melt. If your clock lights up but displays no numbers or crescent-shaped errors, the display needs to be repaired. Simply search for "Porsche 944 Digital Clock" in the shop. Installation/Removal Instructions: 1. With the passenger door open, remove the triangular, black plastic cover at the end of the dashboard. 2. Remove the screw underneath securing the long, thin switch panel. 3. Carefully pry off the knobs of the two heater/air conditioning sliders using a small flathead screwdriver or plastic spatula. 4. Carefully pry off the heater/air conditioning control cover from the side using a plastic spatula or very small flathead screwdriver. The cover is held in place by four small clips (two at the top, two at the bottom). Be careful, the old plastic parts break easily. Remove all four screws from the control unit and pull it forward one centimeter. 5. Carefully rotate the internal sensor rosette (small, round grille) approximately 30 degrees to remove it. Loosen the screw behind it. 6. Using a small flathead screwdriver, loosen the cover to the left of the right fan grille and the screws behind it. 7. Now you can easily remove the switch panel and detach the clock with its two screws. The somewhat stiff connector is not clipped in and simply pulls off. Now you can replace the bulb. 8. Keep the screws safe. Installation is the reverse of removal. Note: Make sure the internal sensor hose hasn't slipped off and ideally use a cable tie to secure it.
