Six LED strips in one profile SORGA is a profile whose entire design serves one number: it holds up to six LED strips side by side. That sets it apart from standard profiles taking one strip, or at most two, and it changes what the profile is for. Six strips means six times the output from the same running metre. The profile stops being a decorative element that picks out an edge and becomes a source of general lighting — the manufacturer says so explicitly, alongside decorative use. It is a solution for offices, sales floors, corridors in public buildings and halls, where a line of light is meant to replace ceiling grids rather than merely supplement them. Four ways to mount it The manufacturer lists four mounting techniques: screw, mounting spring, bracket and plaster-in. That is not a marketing list but a real choice between two entirely different results. Mounting on springs lets the profile drop between plasterboard sheets and be removed later without damaging the ceiling — useful when the installation may still change. Mounting plaster-in gives the finished effect: the profile edges are skimmed over and, once painted, only the glowing slot remains visible, with no frame at all. Joining into continuous lines Unlike many recessed profiles, SORGA has dedicated connectors and allows continuous lines of light of any length. It comes in 1.0 m, 2.02 m and 3.0 m sections, and to order up to 6 m — so long runs are assembled from few pieces, limiting the number of visible joints. Light output is perpendicular to the mounting plane: it falls straight down without sideways spill. For general lighting that is an advantage — the flux goes where it is needed. This version: black, one metre Catalogue number 10-0765-10 is the black lacquered profile in RAL 9005 matt, 1 metre long. Matt black inside the slot swallows reflections, so with the light off the recess reads as a dark, crisp line. The system also includes a white lacquered version (RAL 9016) and a silver anodised one. What to buy alongside The profile is sold on its own — you will also need LED strips, a cover, end caps and a driver. SORGA takes the SUPERWIDE covers: in PMMA as transparent, milky and milky frosted, and in PLEXI as milky. With six strips, the choice of cover matters more than usual. A transparent cover passes the most light but shows distinctly visible points with that many rows of diodes; a milky one merges them into an even luminous plane at the cost of a few per cent of output — for general lighting, that loss is usually worth taking. The driver is mounted outside the profile, and with six strips its rating has to be calculated carefully. The profile carries IP20 and is neither sealable nor rated to be walked on — dry interiors, and only in a ceiling or wall.
