USHUAIA is a ceiling fan with built-in LED lighting, designed by Nacho Timon. Three black curved ABS blades emerge from a cylindrical motor housing 17 cm across, and a round luminaire sits in its underside. The body is steel and the whole fitting is a uniform black. How much room it takes below the ceiling The blades sweep a circle 133.5 cm across and the whole fan drops 27.5 cm below the ceiling. There is no extension rod, so the unit hangs close to the ceiling outlet — a build for rooms of ordinary height, where a classic rod-mounted fan would sit too low. Measure those 133.5 cm out from the mounting axis in both directions and check that the blades will not reach a beam, a roof slope, or a pendant hanging over a table. The maker intends USHUAIA for rooms over 20 m². The fan weighs 4.2 kg and is a class I appliance, so the ceiling point needs an earth conductor. Mounting on a sloped ceiling is provided for by the maker. How it moves air The motor is a DC type rated 35 W and runs at eight speeds, reaching at most 168 revolutions per minute and a flow of 180 m³/min. On the lowest speed the noise level is 33 dB and on the highest 45 dB — the first sits within the range where the unit can be left running overnight, the second is clearly audible. The blades are reversible and have a summer and a winter mode: in summer the airflow goes down and cools, in winter the opposite rotation brings the warm air back down from the ceiling without blowing on the people in the room. Light and control The LED luminaire draws 30 W and delivers 2400 lm, roughly three times a former 60 W bulb — main-light level rather than an addition. Colour is set anywhere between 2700 K and 5000 K, from warm yellowish to cool white, and the brightness can be dimmed. Colour rendering is Ra 80 and the beam spreads over 120 degrees. The light source is included. Fan and light are run from the supplied radio remote and also over Bluetooth from the app — the remote does not have to be pointed at the unit.
