Based on Maurten’s innovative Hydrogel Technology , each serving delivers 120 g of carbohydrates and 480 kcal . Once mixed with water, the product creates a unique consistency: thicker than a traditional sports drink but more fluid than a conventional energy gel . This makes Maurten Gel Mix 480 ideal for long-distance running, ultra running, trail running, cycling, gravel riding and long-distance triathlon. In the acidic environment of the stomach, the mixture forms a hydrogel. The carbohydrates are encapsulated within the gel structure and transported to the intestine, where they can be absorbed as an energy source. The Maurten Gel Mix 480 contains no added flavours, colours or preservatives. Its neutral taste can be customised with separately available Maurten Additions for greater variety during training and competition. Preparation and Recommended Use For one serving, mix the contents of one sachet with 200 ml of clean water . Pour 200 ml of water into a suitable soft flask, ideally the Maurten Gel Mix Flask. If using Maurten Additions, add them to the flask first and shake well. Slowly add the contents of one Gel Mix sachet to the water. Shake the flask thoroughly until the powder has completely dissolved and no lumps remain. Allow the mixture to rest for approximately 5 minutes before consumption. Maurten Gel Mix 480 is designed for long-duration endurance activities and can be consumed in portions during training or competition according to individual energy requirements.
