Perforated lids are crucial for optimizing the physical and biological sampling efficiency of Andersen impaction-based microbial air samplers. Air is accelerated through the perforations in the lid, creating a jet that impacts the agar surface. The Lid for MAS-100 Sirius Microbial Air Samplers is designed to fit tightly on the instrument by easy and quick magnetic closure without twisting. It is made from 316L stainless-steel which has good resistance towards a broad range of disinfectants including vaporized hydrogen peroxide and is suitable for autoclaving. The magnetic lid type B 90 mm has a sieve geometry of 400 holes with a diameter of 0.7 mm and is suitable for use with 90 mm agar plates. This sieve configuration delivers a nominal d50 value of 1.15 µm at a flow rate of 200 SLPM (standard liter per minute).
