A selective and differential medium that enables the counting of Bacillus cereus. Bacillus cereus provides results after just 20 hours. The plates are ready to use, eliminating all time-consuming steps involved in preparing media/agar plates. No handling of antibiotics or exposure to hazardous substrates. The Neogen® Petrifilm® Bacillus cereus Count (BC) plate is a ready-to-use culture medium containing patented nutrients, a cold water-soluble gelling agent, chromogenic indicators, and a lecithinase substrate, enabling colony counting in just 20 hours. This makes it one of the rapid microbiological tests. This medium is used to count the Bacillus cereus group, also known as the B. cereus sensu lato group, without confirmed use in the food and beverage industry.
