The ASKER Small Pro 1720WH is a NORLYS outdoor wall luminaire with a rectangular body of cast aluminium finished in white powder coating. Light leaves the fixture on two sides, upwards and downwards, through transparent polycarbonate covers with an embossed structure. Size and mounting The luminaire is 22.5 cm wide and 11 cm high, and it projects 8.5 cm from the wall. It is worth comparing that projection with the width of the passage by your door or on the terrace, because a wall light of this kind usually sits at shoulder height. The whole fixture weighs 1.34 kg. It is fixed through two holes of 4.5 mm diameter spaced 180 by 60 mm. The terminals take a conductor of up to 3 x 2.5 mm2, and looping through to the next fixture up to 3 x 1.5 mm2; the gland accepts a cable of 7 to 10.5 mm diameter. The luminaire is protection class I, so the installation needs a protective earth conductor. How much light it gives and of what kind Two LED modules give 798 lm together at 8.4 W. That is roughly the output of a former 60 W incandescent bulb, except that the flux is split across two directions: part of it runs up the wall, part falls on the ground below the fixture. 3000 K is a warm white with a slightly yellow cast, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for a facade and an approach to the house. The light source is built into the luminaire, so no bulb has to be bought separately. The LED module and the driver can be replaced, but the manufacturer reserves that replacement for a professional. The fixture can be dimmed, and it needs a trailing edge dimmer for that. Outdoor use and construction IP65 means full protection against dust and resistance to water jets, so the luminaire can work on an unsheltered facade. IK08 describes the impact resistance of the housing, which matters on a fence and by a gate. The manufacturer states operation from minus 20 to plus 45 degrees Celsius. The body is powder-painted cast aluminium, the cover is UV-stabilised polycarbonate, and a silicone gasket together with an EPDM gland keeps the fixture sealed.
