The front fenders are bolted to these nuts. The panel itself is a weld-in panel for body repairs. The short-wheelbase 911/912 models had a slightly different fender end panel compared to the later F and G models. The earlier version has been discontinued in the Porsche parts catalog and replaced by the later one. Please bear in mind that the bodies of the early 911s were still largely handcrafted. Therefore, no two vehicles are exactly alike, and minor sheet metal adjustments for perfect panel gaps are possible.
