The AVC2 is the alternative to a cut-off limiter: instead of killing the power when the room gets too loud, it quietly turns the system down. It sits in the line between the mixer and the amplifiers; below the threshold it does nothing, and above it, it fades the output down in steps so the level in the room barely changes however hard the DJ pushes.
