ASLAK is a small Nordlux wall light in an industrial idiom: a white metal shade 8 cm across on a short arm, projecting 18.5 cm from the wall at a height of 10.5 cm. The shade is white on the inside too, so the light bounces off a pale surface rather than bare metal. A shade that turns and tilts ASLAK's most important practical feature does not show in a photograph: the shade turns and tilts. The fitting therefore does not light one fixed spot — once mounted you can aim the beam at a book, at the wall or at the ceiling, and change it again later. With a GU10 holder and a narrow beam the difference between those three settings is very large. Two ways to connect it ASLAK ships with a two-metre white cord with a switch on the cable, but that is not the only option: the manufacturer also allows mounting directly onto a wall outlet, with no visible cord. Worth knowing: the fitting can be dimmed — provided you use a dimmable bulb; the luminaire itself contains no electronics that would prevent it.
