Clacking/knocking noises, especially when the engine is cold, are signs of worn components in the valve control or incorrectly adjusted valve clearance. Advantage of sodium-filled valves: It is common for valves to be made of solid material. The valves offered here are 2/3 filled with sodium. At a temperature of around 97°C, the sodium becomes liquid and oscillates back and forth with every valve movement. This ensures better and more even heat dissipation, which means the temperature at the valve plate can be reduced by up to 100°C.
