Tie Rod End Joint for PORSCHE 964 Carrera Upgrade to Ball Joint for Increased Steering Precision Description: Tie rod end joints are subject to wear, which usually begins with a torn boot. Once the grease has been washed out of the tie rod end joint, the ball joint will fail within a few thousand kilometers. At the latest, the defective rubber boots or ball joints will be flagged during the vehicle inspection (TÜV). Because replacing the tie rod always requires a new wheel alignment with toe adjustment, it is recommended to replace the entire tie rod depending on its condition. We offer a wide selection of tie rod ends, tie rod ends, and complete tie rods, including the correct steering boots. These tie rod ends feature an optimized "turbo design." This is characterized by the zero-play ball joint. True to the original design, the Carrera 911 G-model and 964 featured a jointed fork and rubber bushing. While this provided greater comfort, it resulted in less direct steering response. The 930 Turbo and the later 993 Carrera/Turbo models came standard with a backlash-free axial joint.
