Fuel Tank Vent Valve for PORSCHE 996 Boxster 986 Shut-off Valve PIERBURG Original Description: Unburned fuel vapors are captured in the activated carbon canister and then fed to the engine via the tank vent. A defective activated carbon canister often leads to poor engine performance and escaping fuel vapors.Depending on the vehicle's equipment (ORVR), the shut-off valve can be installed in two different locations. In some cases, the valve is located in the activated carbon canister; alternatively, for example in the 996 Turbo, it is installed in the tank vent valve housing. The 996 Turbo also has another valve, which you can also find in our shop. If you are unsure, you can compare the Porsche OE part number. This is printed in white on your original part and is visible after removing the shut-off valve.
