Over time, the plastic bushings wear out and the plastic hardens. This results in excessive play in the shift linkage. With new bushings, guide cups, and sliding rings, you can overhaul your shift lever so that it operates smoothly and without play again. This part is also available with notches for easier installation under part number #4758 .
