The shock absorber has a union nut that is screwed to the strut. The wrench engages precisely with the nut using its flared prongs. This allows the required torque, specified in the instructions included with the shock absorber, to be applied.This tool is suitable for shock absorbers with part numbers 3926 (Set 1960), 3902 (Set 1942), 3903 (Set 1943), and 3946 (Set 1975).
