The Form 4 Pistachio is a pendant lamp built on a straight metal bar 120 cm long, with four cone-shaped shades hanging beneath it. Everything is metal, in a pistachio green with a satin finish, and the insides of the shades are pale. How big it is and how it hangs The bar measures 120 cm — the figure to set against the length of the surface it will hang over. Depth is 26 cm and the whole set weighs 2 kg. It is fixed at two points 70 cm apart: one is covered by a round canopy 10 cm across and carries the supply, the other is a plain cable suspension. Both have to be marked out before drilling, and on a plasterboard ceiling both need to reach the load-bearing structure. Total height is 115 cm, of which the fitting itself — bar plus shades — takes 17 cm. The remaining hundred centimetres or so is suspension that is shortened during installation. Over a table it is usually set so the bottom edges of the shades sit 70–80 cm above the top. The shades and the direction of light Each of the four shades is 16 cm across and 14 cm tall. The shades are movable, so the angle of each one is set separately — the four points can aim straight down at the surface or be fanned outwards. The insides are pale, which throws the light downwards instead of absorbing it. The cone shape narrows the beam, so the fitting lights the area beneath it rather than the whole room. What bulbs it takes The lamp takes four E27 bulbs and none are supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself.
