E450 is a square Zambelis step light, 14 cm a side and only 2.6 cm deep, in graphite aluminium. The built-in LED of 3 W gives 185 lm in warm 3000 K, and an IP65 rating allows outdoor mounting. Surface mounted — no chasing into the wall This is the feature that sets E450 apart from most step lights. The manufacturer states it plainly: Cutting Hole: None, Depth Required: None — the fitting needs no box and no cavity, it screws onto a finished wall with the cable entering from behind. In practice that means it can be added to existing steps or a façade without disturbing the plaster, which recessed fittings make impossible. At 2.6 cm deep it still does not protrude aggressively. 185 lumens aimed downward Three watts and 185 lm is light for marking, not for illuminating. The characteristic notch in the face directs the flux downward, onto the step or path, rather than scattering it sideways — so you can see where to put your foot without being dazzled. The 3000 K colour is warm and CRI 80 is adequate outdoors. Colour spread is quoted as SDCM < 5.75, so with several units along a staircase small differences in shade may appear — worth ordering them from one batch. IP65 and −35 °C — a full year outdoors IP65 means dust-tight and resistant to water jets from any direction: rain, snow and façade washing are no problem. The operating range is unusually wide — −35 to +50 °C — covering the harshest Central European winters. IK04 impact resistance covers light knocks; on a staircase, where the fitting sits on the wall rather than in the floor, that is an adequate level. Driver inside and class I Zambelis uses a DOB (Driver On Board) arrangement here — the driver is integrated onto the LED board, so the fitting connects straight to 220–240 V with no separate power supply. That simplifies installation when several points share a circuit. Protection class I requires an earth conductor. The fitting is not dimmable.
