Kapello L 32338 – a broad gold surface beneath a white upper faceThis single-light Kapello L develops its appearance through the contrast between two sides of one shade. The smooth white top is calm and almost graphic. Underneath, mineral composite reveals a gold-coloured finish with a dense, irregular pattern resembling tangled fibres. The plane is not flat: it drops at one edge, passes around the central holder and rises at the opposite side. As a person moves through the room, the proportion of gold in view continually changes.Large scale without an enclosed volumeThe shade spans 76 cm in diameter but is only 12.5 cm high. Rather than forming a conventional dome, it makes a wide horizontal gesture with the bulb still visible below.
