To check the fit, measure your own tabletop and subtract its dimensions from those two figures — half the difference is left as drop on each side. A 90 cm wide top therefore gives 30 cm of drop across, and a 240 cm long top 30 cm at each end.The manufacturer makes a shorter 150 × 250 cm cloth and 45 × 45 cm napkins in the same family, so cloth and setting can be picked from one range.Fabric and finishThe cloth is sewn from linen. Linen has a visible weave and a matt, uneven surface: it does not lie flat like a coated fabric but falls softly over the table edge and creases during a meal — a property of the fibre rather than a fault in the making. The black cloth acts as a dark ground on which pale ceramics, glass and cutlery stand out more than they would on a light one.The edges are deliberately left unhemmed — the threads unravel into short fringes, and the natural-coloured stitch stops the fraying at a fixed width.
