Piani is a round recessed fitting made to be built into an outdoor wall. The aluminium body carries a sandblasted black finish, and a horizontally ribbed insert sits inside the ring, hiding the lit module — looked at straight on, you see an illuminated surface rather than a point of light. Cut-out and dimensions The visible flange measures 7 cm across, and the manufacturer specifies a 5.7 cm mounting hole. It is the second of those numbers that decides the installation: if there is already a box or a bore in the wall or in the step, that is what has to be compared with these 57 mm, because a cylindrical housing disappears into the masonry behind the flange. The 7 cm flange covers the edge of the opening, so small imperfections in the cut are not visible once the fitting is in. The luminaire is for recessing only — it has no base and no bracket that would let it be screwed onto a surface. How much light it gives One built-in 3 W LED module produces 98 lm. That is an output that marks a route rather than lighting it: for comparison, an old 60 W bulb gave around 800 lm, so Piani traces the edge of a step, a path or a driveway instead of brightening a whole stretch of garden. For the same reason fittings like this are installed in runs, every few metres. 4000 K is neutral white, with no yellow cast. No lamp is bought separately and none is changed — the manufacturer answers the cap row with "LED, not applicable", so there is no holder inside the fitting. The luminaire is not dimmable, so the brightness is fixed. Where it can be installed IP65 means full protection against dust and resistance to water jets, and the manufacturer intends Piani for the garden and for facades. The supply range is 100–240 V, so the fitting runs on ordinary 230 V mains. The sandblasted aluminium body carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty.Show more
