MAREA 60 is a linear LED wall light in a black housing. The bar is 60 cm long, an opal diffuser runs along its lower edge, and a single rectangular bracket in the middle holds it to the wall. The light goes downwards. How much wall it takes On the wall the fitting draws a rectangle 60 cm long and 11.3 cm high, standing 4 cm off the plaster; the manufacturer's drawing adds a bracket width of 16 cm. Four centimetres of projection is little — the fitting stays out of the swing of a cabinet door and out of the space you stand in at the basin. Compare the 60 cm length with the width of the mirror or the counter the bar is meant to hang above. How much light it gives The LED module draws 18 W and delivers 1954 lm. The old 60 W incandescent gave around 800 lm, so this bar puts out roughly two and a half of them — enough to serve as the only light above a basin. 3000 K is warm white: warmer than daylight, without the yellow cast of the old filament lamp. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is the usual level for functional lighting — colours read correctly, but for matching make-up or a paint shade it is average. The manufacturer states a lifetime of 25,000 hours. There is no lamp to change: the LED is built in permanently and the fitting has no socket. The driver sits inside the housing, so the light wires straight into the 230 V supply. Damp rooms and finish IP44 describes resistance to splashing water from any direction; the manufacturer intends this fitting for humid rooms and for mounting above a mirror, outside the zone of a direct jet of water. The housing is black along its whole length, the top face included, so switched off the fitting reads as a dark line on the wall — only the lower edge lights up.
