A ring 80 cm across, not a disc MILPA is a ceiling light shaped as a closed ring — the centre is open and only the rim emits. That single property changes everything: an 80 cm disc on a ceiling reads as a heavy flat patch, whereas a ring of the same diameter leaves a visible piece of ceiling in the middle and lightens the room visually. The body is aluminium finished in matt white, and the underside is an acrylic diffuser running the whole circumference. 2968 lumens — this is the main light The built-in LED module draws 50 W and delivers 2968 lm at a warm 3000 K. That is enough to genuinely light a room: for a 20 m² living room, recommended general lighting works out at roughly 2500–3000 lm, so MILPA is not a supplement here but the primary source. 3000 K is warm white — warmer than the neutral 4000 K used in kitchens and offices, chosen for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. Diffusion instead of a point Because the light leaves a long, narrow band of acrylic rather than a single point, shadows in the room are soft and multi-directional. The practical difference shows at a table or a worktop: a single pendant throws a hard shadow of your hand, while a ring with a circumference of more than 2.5 m blurs it substantially. The diffuser is uniformly frosted too, so no individual diodes are visible from the side. A flat body, mounted straight to the ceiling At 7.8 cm high the fitting sits against the ceiling and takes no room — the solution for flats of the usual 2.5–2.6 m height, where a pendant is physically in the way. Supply is 230 V, with no external driver. The LED module is permanently integrated: there are no lamps to buy and none to change. Dimming and conditions of use The fitting is prepared for dimming with an external dimmer, chosen separately — with a single 50 W source as a room's main light, that is a function which genuinely changes how the space is used in the evening. IP20 restricts MILPA to dry interiors.
