COMFORT IP 6811 is a round recessed downlight 8.5 cm across with a build-in depth of only 4.5 cm, in matt black. It fits a 75 mm aperture, takes a standard GU10 lamp and is built for damp locations — the simplest answer wherever discreet recessed light is needed in a bathroom, near a shower area or under an external soffit. A shallow build-in depth 4.5 cm is not much — it fits a typical plasterboard ceiling with minimal void, or even a roof soffit. In a bathroom refit, where the slab is concrete and the space above the board is only what the dropped ceiling allowed, that figure can be the deciding one. The aperture is 75 mm, a standard size, so the fitting drops into the place of most common downlights. A GU10 socket, not an LED module The fitting has no built-in LED module — it has an ordinary GU10 socket, so you choose and change the lamp yourself. That is a real advantage in a bathroom: the colour temperature is not fixed for years, and a failed lamp is replaced in a minute without pulling the whole fitting out of the ceiling. In practice that simplifies installation on older bathroom circuits that simply do not have one — and there are plenty of those in flats built in the 1970s and 80s. It does not, of course, remove the obligation to respect bathroom zones and to fit residual current protection. Choosing a bulb The GU10 socket takes sources up to 12 W. In a bathroom, neutral white at 4000 K usually works best — at a mirror it renders skin tones faithfully in a way warm 2700 K does not. If the fittings are also to serve as mood lighting by the bath, warm white and a larger number of points is worth considering. The fitting is not dimmable, so the light level is set by how many you install and where, not by a control.
