The NORLYS 406 ground anchor is the steel base on which a lamp post or lighting pole stands when it is set into the ground. It is an open frame: three upright profiles connect a triangular bottom plate to a hexagonal top plate, from which three M10 threaded studs protrude. The whole anchor is made of electro-galvanised steel.Which luminaires it fitsAccording to the manufacturer's data sheet, the anchor is intended for pole-type luminaires: 1270, 3009 and 3011, and the Lund, Oslo, Rimini and Stockholm lamp posts. Norlys also names the specific articles it pairs it with: Karlstad 2032 and 2033, Lofoten 1947, Lund 274 and 275, Milano 401, Oslo 242, Pole 3009 and 3011, Rimini 402 and 403, and Stockholm 281 and 283. Before ordering, compare the article number of your lamp post with this list – the number, not just the series name, decides whether it fits. Luminaires are sold separately; the anchor does not include one.Dimensions and room for the cableAssembled, the anchor measures 55 × 24.6 × 25.3 cm. The frame is 500 mm from the bottom plate to the top plate, and 550 mm including the studs. Compare these dimensions with the spot where the post is to stand, because the whole frame sits in the ground beneath its base.The top plate has two ø50 mm openings for cables. The mounting instructions show the supply cable routed inside the frame and brought out at least 350 mm above the top plate – leave that much spare cable so the luminaire can be connected later.What is in the box and how it goes togetherThe anchor arrives in a flat 57 × 25 × 4.5 cm carton, in parts: the bottom plate, the top plate with its openings, three profiles and three nuts. The frame is assembled following the enclosed instructions, and the base of the lamp post is placed on the M10 studs and tightened with nuts. The anchor weighs 2.35 kg, 2.5 kg packed, so one person can carry and position it.Electro-galvanised steel carries a layer of zinc that protects it from corrosion, which matters for a part that is in constant contact with damp soil.
