COMODORO is a plaster wall light from Luces Exclusivas in the form of a cube 11.5 cm to a side. The white matt block has no visible frame or screws — once mounted it looks like something drawn out of the wall rather than a lamp screwed onto it. Plaster means a lamp you can paint That is the material's most important property and the main reason plaster fittings exist at all: COMODORO can be painted with the same paint as the wall. Painted over, the fitting disappears — all that remains is the light leaving it top and bottom. Plaster can also be filled and flushed with the render, so during a refurbishment the fitting can be sunk into the wall rather than standing off it. As delivered it is white and matt. G9, 5 W, no bulb The holder is G9 and the manufacturer caps the source at 5 W. No bulb is included. G9 is a capsule base, once halogen and now available as 2–5 W LEDs — with that ceiling the sensible pick is an LED at 2700–3000 K, giving warm light without overheating a plaster housing. The cube throws light up and down, drawing two spreading triangles of light on the wall. What it suits At 5 W this is a decorative fitting, not a working light source. It works in a row along a corridor, beside a bed as soft evening light, in a stairwell, or either side of a mirror. The IP20 rating keeps it in dry interiors — it is not suitable for a bathroom shower zone. Supply is 230 V.
