FIT is a round supply cable in a grey textile braid, supplied as a 4 m length. It has three cores of 0.75 mm² and is intended for 230 V installations. RENDL sells it as a part for building or altering a light fitting — one where the cable stays in view. What you actually get The package holds the cable on its own. The photographs show both ends bare and cut — no lampholder, no ceiling rose, no plug and no switch. Each of those is bought separately and chosen to suit the fitting being assembled. Installation means wiring the cable in at both ends, so the work is done with the supply isolated and to the rules of the electrical installation. Length, cross-section and colour Four metres is a reserve worth comparing with the distance from the junction box to where the fitting is to hang — surplus is easier to shorten than to add to. The whole length weighs 420 g. Three 0.75 mm² cores carry line, neutral and earth, so the cable also supplies a class I fitting, which needs earthing.
