Caia is a table lamp 62 cm tall. The base is a clear glass body in a teardrop shape standing on a round metal foot, with a slim brushed-nickel stem running up beside it. On top sits a round shade in brown fabric, 40 cm across and 23 cm high, with a lighter copper-toned lining. How much room it takes The lamp is 62 cm high and the shade is 40 cm across — the shade is what decides the footprint, because it is clearly wider than the base. Measure the width of your sideboard or bedside table and subtract those 40 cm to see what else will still fit beside it. At 2.3 kg the lamp stands firmly and is heavy enough that catching the cord will not tip it over. The manufacturer requires a level, stable surface. Bulb and switching The lampholder takes one E27 bulb of up to 40 W, and no bulb is included, so you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself. The 40 W limit is set for a traditional filament bulb; an LED reaches the same brightness at a few watts and stays well inside it. The light is switched by an inline switch on the cord rather than on the lamp itself, so there is no reaching behind the furniture. The cord is black. Connection and care The lamp is protection class II and double insulated, so it needs no earth conductor. The manufacturer intends it for indoor use only and rules out bathrooms. The shade is secured with a ring once unpacked — that is the only assembly step.
