A deep-set downlight that disappears into the ceiling ORCO is a recessed fitting reduced to a flat black ring 6.8 cm across. Everything else hides above the board, and the lamp sits deep inside the aperture — so from eye level you see no glowing point, only a dark interior and the light on whatever surface it falls on. The matt black finish damps reflections further, so the fitting stays discreet even on a white ceiling. Installation dimensions — check them before you buy These are the numbers that matter on this fitting: cut-out: 6.5 cm (round) ring diameter: 6.8 cm — it covers the edge of the hole required recess depth: 12 cm Those 12 cm follow from the design: setting the source deep, which is what produces the anti-glare effect, needs room above the ceiling. A standard plasterboard grid usually leaves enough void, but a suspended ceiling dropped by only a few centimetres will not take this fitting — worth measuring in advance. Light source: GU10 up to 9 W A GU10 socket, 230 V straight from the mains — no driver and no transformer, which simplifies the installation and reduces the number of parts that can fail. Maximum power is 9 W and no bulb is included. In the long run that is an advantage: you change the lamp yourself without discarding the fitting, and you choose the colour temperature and beam angle — the same fitting can graze a wall with a narrow beam or give general light with a wide one. Dimming The manufacturer describes the fitting as dimmable provided a suitable light source is used. The fitting itself carries no control electronics — whether dimming works is decided by the GU10 lamp being rated dimmable and matched to your dimmer. Build and variants The body is aluminium — metal carries heat away from the lamp better than plastic, which genuinely matters for lamp life when the fitting is buried in plasterboard. The whole thing weighs just 90 g. The ORCO family comes in five colourways, so the ring can be matched to the ceiling or deliberately set against it: R14255 white, R14256 white/aluminium, R14257 white/gold, R14258 black (this model) and R14259 black/gold.
