ALTRA DICE CW is a surface-mounted fitting – it mounts onto the face of a ceiling or wall, it is not recessed into a suspended ceiling. Two cube-shaped heads sit on a round base plate, each open on one side and holding a QPAR51 reflector on a GU10 base. The body is aluminium and steel in a black finish, and the whole fitting measures 22.5 × 7 × 9 cm. Full aiming range Both cubes rotate and tilt: 180° of tilt and 350° of horizontal rotation. In practice one point on the ceiling can light two entirely different things – a picture on the wall and a reading chair, a bookcase and a worktop – and the aim can be changed at any time without moving the fitting. The same fitting also works on a wall, throwing light up and down. Light sources The fitting takes two QPAR51 reflectors with a GU10 base running straight off 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz mains – no transformer required. Lamps are not included. SLV recommends its own LED reflectors for this model: 1005273 (6 W, 2200–2700 K, CRI 90, 36°) and 1005080 (QPAR51 GU10, 3000 K, black). Worth knowing that a black reflector interior cuts glare – a real difference when the fitting sits low in the field of view. Installation The fitting is ready for direct connection to a 230 V supply. Protection class I means a protective earth is required, and IP20 places it in dry interiors. The manufacturer rates it for a 25 °C ambient. Net weight is 0.789 kg. Where it works The cubic form and direct light make ALTRA DICE an accent fitting: above a bookcase, in a hallway, over a kitchen worktop, in a shop window or a gallery.
