ALTA 1475GA is an 85 cm Norlys bollard light: a plain steel cylinder topped by a head of horizontal fins, with the light coming out between them. The body is hot-dip galvanised steel and is not painted, so it shows the matt, silvery-grey surface of the zinc. An E27 LED lamp is included, so it lights up as soon as it is connected. Size and installation The bollard takes up 15 × 15 cm and weighs 9.05 kg net (10.5 kg packed), so it is bolted down rather than stood loose on the ground. The base fixes through three ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle. The concreting anchor 205, the ground anchor 206, the concrete-foundation adapter 206S and the mounting adapters 3080GA and 3086GA are sold separately and need to be ordered with the bollard. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next luminaire. A row of bollards along a path can therefore run from one round-sheathed cable of up to 12.5 mm in diameter. The light it gives The supplied Philips MASTER LEDbulb E27 with a frosted A60 bulb draws 5.9 W and produces 806 lm at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellowish white, with a colour rendering index of Ra 80. The head shades the source from above and spreads the light evenly all round, so 100 lm leaves the luminaire and only 10% of the output goes upwards. The bollard marks the line of a path or drive and lights the ground around it; a longer stretch is planned as a row of fittings. It can be dimmed with a phase-cut (TRIAC) dimmer, in both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) mode. The user changes the lamp, using LED sources in an A55–A60 bulb only. The manufacturer states a life of more than 25,000 h to the L70 criterion. Construction and use The milky PMMA diffuser is sealed with silicone, giving IP65 protection, so the bollard can stand outdoors without any cover. Impact resistance of IK08 matters beside drives and pavements, where a bollard is easily knocked. Protection class II means double insulation, so the luminaire needs no earth connection.
