NUMINOS® L CL is a surface-mounted ceiling spot 10 cm across and 21.3 cm tall, in matt black. It needs no ceiling cut-out – it screws to the surface – and still has the optics and control of a recessed fitting. DALI and Touch control This is why you choose this variant over a cheaper one. The fitting supports DALI – the bus of specified installations, where every luminaire has an address and belongs to room-wide lighting scenes. The manufacturer lists a second technology alongside it: Touch, i.e. dimming from an ordinary push-button when there is no bus. The same fitting therefore works in an office with a control system and in a flat without one. The light A colour temperature of 2700 K is noticeably warmer than the 3000 K usual in spotlights – closer to incandescent than to retail light. The half-peak beam angle is 36°: moderately narrow, for building a grid of points over a display, a worktop or a seating area, not for lighting a room with one unit. Colour rendering of CRI 90 matters precisely because of that narrow angle – it decides whether the object lit keeps its colour.
