CHAIN 91 is a pendant built from a repeating module that reinterprets a chain link. The steel body, 91 cm long and 10 cm wide, is painted ultramarine – a saturated blue – and the ceiling rose is finished in the same colour, so the fitting reads as one object rather than a shade attached to a ceiling. The light leaves in alternating directions This is not an ordinary bar. Successive links throw the flux alternately to two sides, so the light leaves the fitting rhythmically rather than as a uniform plane – the structure stays legible even when it is lit. The integrated 10 W LED module delivers 1177 lm at a neutral 4000 K; the source is built in and part of the fitting. PUSH-DIMM / DALI control The most important thing the photograph does not show: CHAIN has integrated PUSH-DIMM and DALI control. PUSH-DIMM means brightness is adjusted from an ordinary retractive switch – a short press turns it on, holding it dims – with no phase dimmer in the back box. DALI is the bus protocol of specified installations: it lets the fitting join whole-room lighting scenes and be controlled alongside other devices.
