The main difference between immobilized CHIRALPAK columns and conventional polysaccharide columns is their robustness and stability towards the composition of the mobile phase. The immobilization of the polysaccharide derivatives around a matrix provides universal solvent compatibility: virtually any miscible organic solvent can be used in combination with Daicel's immobilized phases, enabling new selectivity profiles and improved productivity.
