The Como 371WH is a classic garden lantern on a post: a clear polycarbonate shade under a wide canopy, hung from a curved arm and mounted on a telescopic post with a decorative base. The whole fitting is cast aluminium, powder-coated white (RAL 9003). Height and where it fits The post is telescopic, so the height of the lantern can be set anywhere between 182 and 249 cm — the figure to compare with the height of trees and shrubs where the lantern will stand. From the front the lantern is 27 cm wide, and from the side — arm and shade included — 41 cm deep; that is the space it takes up at the top beside a path or flowerbed. The set consists of three parts: the luminaire (art. 3030), the reducer (art. 3040) and the post (art. 3010). The base is bolted down through three ø10.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø240 mm circle. Concrete-in or ground anchors and an adapter for a concrete foundation are sold separately by the manufacturer — one of these has to be bought to fix the lantern in place. The lantern weighs 9.17 kg net. Bulb and light The fitting has an E27 socket and takes an A55–A60 shaped bulb — LED up to 9 W. The bulb is not included, so you choose the colour of the light yourself; the manufacturer names a 2700 K LED bulb as an option, which gives warm, slightly yellowish light. The user changes the bulb themselves, with the power switched off. The shade is clear and the unshielded light spreads sideways and downwards, partly also upwards — the manufacturer states that 17% of the luminous flux goes above the level of the fitting. Norlys intends the lantern for gardens and parks; it also suits a terrace and the grounds of hotels and restaurants. Build and installation The IP54 rating means the lantern can stand outdoors without cover: the housing is protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction. The polycarbonate shade is UV-stabilised and the joints are sealed with a silicone gasket. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor. Power is connected to terminals for up to 4 × 2.5 mm² using a round-sheathed cable 6–12.5 mm in diameter; the terminals allow the supply to be looped on to the next lantern.
