GERHARD is a flat metal disc 30 cm across and just 6 cm deep, hung on a thin cable beneath a small cylindrical canopy. The finish is matte grey — Maytoni give the frame an anti-glare coating, so the body catches no reflections and stays a calm, uniform shape. The underside is closed by a matte acrylic diffuser hiding the LED module.Where the name comes fromThe GERHARD collection refers to the work of the German painter Gerhard Richter — hence the monochrome palette (black, grey, white) and the deliberately ascetic, undecorated form. This is a design for interiors where the fitting is meant not to draw attention to itself.The lightThe integrated LED module gives 1000 lm for 19 W, at 3000 K (warm white) with a colour rendering index of CRI 80. The beam angle is 120° — the light goes downward only, but wide, so over a table 90–120 cm across it covers the whole surface without hard edges. The matte acrylic conceals the diodes completely: from the side no light points are visible. Declared service life is 50,000 hours.What not to expectThe fitting is not dimmable — it runs at full output and will not work with a dimmer.
