A low bollard for marking a path FOLEDA is a bollard light 40 cm tall with a square 12 × 12 cm section. The head is open: four slim posts carry a flat cap, and the light leaves through the sides and falls onto the path. There is no diffuser — the manufacturer states so explicitly — and therefore no part to go chalky in the sun after two seasons or to collect water inside. 432 lumens — what that means in a garden This is the figure to understand before buying. 432 lm from 10 W is marker light: it traces the edge of a path, a step, a bend in a walkway or the line of a drive, but it does not light a garden. At 40 cm the pool of light is small and kept near the ground — exactly right, because it does not glare into the eyes of someone walking. To run a path you plan a row of bollards every 2–3 metres, not one by the gate. 3000 K and a 120° beam 3000 K is warm white — outdoors at dusk it reads naturally, sits well with timber, stone and brick, and avoids the car-park look that cool colours can give. The 120° angle means a wide spread, so one bollard covers a stretch of path rather than a point. Aluminium and IP54 The body is entirely black-painted aluminium — metal does not rust like steel and carries heat away from the LED module better than plastic. IP54, though, is worth reading carefully: protection against dust and against splashing water, i.e. rain and a sprinkler, but not against jets or flooding. So the bollard does not belong in a hollow where water stands after heavy rain, and must not be cleaned with a pressure washer. Integrated LED module The source is permanently built in and runs on 220–240 V straight from the mains. No lamps to buy and none to change — the life of the module is the life of the fitting. The manufacturer notes the fitting is not dimmable. It carries a 5-year warranty, which on a garden fitting is above the market norm.
