CHARLIZE is a retro Lucide table lamp 23 cm across and 24 cm tall: a green marble base with an amber glass shade set over it. It takes one E27 source up to 40 W. The shade is amber, not green This is the most commonly mistaken feature of the lamp. The marble base is green; the glass above it is amber (Lucide lists amber as the accent colour). The difference is not cosmetic: amber glass warms the light passing through it, shifting it towards orange whatever bulb you fit. Even a neutral 4000 K comes out of this lamp as a warm, honeyed glow — and that is the whole point of the design. Marble, and why the lamp is not light The base is real marble, not an imitation — natural stone, so the veining differs from piece to piece and no two lamps are identical. The marble also accounts for most of the 1.87 kg: the lamp stands firmly and will not topple if the cable is tugged, which is not a given at this size. The finish is matt, with no lacquered gloss. The cable is 190 cm with a fabric braid, ending in a Type C plug, so the lamp can stand a good distance from the socket.
