Lester is a lamp without shades: six straight arms radiate from a central stem, each ending in an exposed E27 socket. The whole form sits inside a circle 76 cm across, and the arm body itself is 47 cm tall — a large fitting that builds a composition in mid-air instead of shutting the light inside a shade. The bulb is the ornament With no shades, 90% of how this lamp looks depends on what you screw into it. Lucide recommends a decorative G95 filament LED (49032/05/62, 4.9 W, 2200 K, amber, Ø9.5 cm) — a large smoked globe with a visible filament, glowing in a warm amber. Six of those hanging at different heights is essentially the whole idea of the fitting. A plain opal bulb works too, but it shifts the character from "vintage" to "technical". You set the arms yourself The arms are tiltable in the vertical plane — you can lay them out symmetrically in one plane or scatter them across different heights, as in the manufacturer's photos. It is a decision made once, at installation, and it changes the lamp more than any accessory: laid flat it reads as a chandelier, scattered it reads as a constellation. Height is set before installation The suspension is adjustable before installation between 65 and 177 cm. The fabric-braided cable is 110 cm, and the ceiling rose is round, 10 cm across and 2.5 cm deep, in the same matt black. Think the height through before you fix it: over a dining table the bottom of the bulbs wants to sit about 75–85 cm above the top; in an open space, higher, so it stays out of the line of sight. If the lamp is to be a room's main light, fit six 7–9 W LEDs at 2700 K; if it is to set an atmosphere over a table, stay with 2200 K filaments and add a dimmer. The fitting has no electronics of its own, so dimming depends entirely on the lamp. Where it works At a 76 cm spread, Lester needs room: a large table, a kitchen island, a stairwell, a living room with a ceiling above 250 cm. In a small room the same lamp will dominate and get in the way. Matt black and exposed sockets belong in industrial and loft interiors, but with amber filaments they also work in a classic dining room.
