Stirling is a battery-powered floor lamp — there is no cord to a socket, only a built-in cell pack charged over USB. A full charge takes 4 hours and runs through a separate USB cable with plug, supplied in the box. In practice that means typical evening use (3–4 hours a day) calls for a charge roughly once a fortnight. Worth knowing up front: the battery is not user-replaceable. Touch dimming, in three steps Brightness is set with a touch dimmer on the lamp itself — there is no remote and no inline switch.
