SUUS is a floor lamp built from black matt tube: a rectangular frame 145 cm tall standing on a flat 34 × 24 cm base. The upper third of the frame is divided into three square bays, each holding a metal ring with an E27 lampholder. The lower two thirds is bare structure – two vertical bars and nothing else. A lamp with no shade – what that means in practice There is no shade and no glass here. The bulbs are completely exposed, and the rings play a purely graphic role: they outline each light point. The manufacturer describes the light direction as all-round and diffuse, which follows simply from the construction – light goes everywhere, nothing directs it. From that follows the most important thing at the point of purchase: the bulb here is a design element, not just a source. An ordinary frosted envelope spoils the effect, and a bright, powerful lamp will glare because nothing covers it. Lucide recommends its own source for this lamp, the G95 (49032/05/62) – a 9.5 cm globe, LED filament, 4.9 W in amber 2200 K. That answers both problems at once: a visible filament, a warm tone and low brightness. Three points stacked Three E27 sockets take lamps of up to 40 W each. Stacking them vertically produces an effect a single-shade lamp cannot: the light runs upward along the wall for over a metre, so it lights not a pool on the floor but a strip of wall. This is a solution for a living-room corner, beside an armchair or next to a desk, where the presence of light matters more than illuminance. Bulbs are not included. Operation and assembly The lamp has a 180 cm cable with a plug and an in-cord switch – operated by foot or by hand from the chair, without reaching for the socket. The structure is rigid: height is not adjustable and the frame does not fold. The manufacturer also states plainly that the fitting is not dimmable. Installation materials are included, plug type C, protection class II (double insulated), IP20 – dry interiors only. Construction The whole lamp is metal, spray-painted matt black – base and rings included. At 6.6 kg on a 34 × 24 cm footprint it has the stability the slim frame would not have on its own.
