MAYO is a large ring 90 cm across, hung on three fine cables beneath a round canopy. A dense palisade of vertical clear glass rods runs around the platinum-gold metal band, above it and below it. Lit, each rod catches the light separately, so instead of one glowing surface you get a ring of several hundred vertical sparkles.Scale This is a fitting for rooms with height and floor area to spare. Ninety centimetres of diameter wants a table at least 180–200 cm long, or a generous seating area — over a small table the ring will overwhelm everything around it. Total suspension height reaches 130 cm, and the cables can be shortened during installation.The light The source is integrated and supplied: a 45 W LED module giving 4402 lm at 3500 K. That is an unusual in-between colour — warmer than the typical 4000 K neutral white, but without the yellow cast of 3000 K. Over a dining table it means light in which food looks appetising and paper stays legible. Efficacy works out at close to 98 lm/W.Dimming The luminaire is dimmable to the TRIAC standard — that is, via an ordinary phase-cut dimmer fitted in the back box in place of the switch. The dimmer is not included: choose one separately and check that its load range covers a 45 W LED load. Without a dimmer the lamp simply runs at full output.Build and installation The construction combines steel (band, canopy, suspension) with glass (the rods). The IP20 rating restricts it to dry interiors. It runs directly from 230 V mains.
