Stockholm 284 is a low Norlys garden bollard, 34.5 cm tall, topped with a wide round canopy 27 cm across. The body is hot-dip galvanised steel, a raw silvery-grey zinc coating with no paint, and the cylindrical clear PMMA diffuser is ringed by horizontal steel bands. Norlys describes the design of the series as Scandinavian. Where it goes and how it is fixed The bollard is fixed with the mounting anchor supplied in the box; the foot has two ø7 mm holes 90 mm apart. Norlys intends it for installation on the ground, a low wall, a deck or another fixed structure. At 34.5 cm it lights the edge of a path, terrace steps or a flower bed right beside it rather than the whole garden. The same series includes the taller 285 at 118 cm. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the EPDM rubber cable gland seals a round cable up to 12 mm in diameter, a figure worth checking against the cable already in the ground. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor, and its IP54 rating allows it to stand outdoors without cover. Which bulb and how much light The bollard has an E27 lampholder and ships without a light source. Norlys allows an LED lamp of up to 9 W in the A55–A60 shape, the classic pear bulb; a wider decorative globe will not fit under the diffuser. You choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself, and the bulb is user-replaceable without a service call. The light is open: the clear diffuser does not soften it, so the bulb stays visible. According to the photometric data, about 42% of the fitting's light leaves above the horizontal (ULOR 41.74%, BUG rating B0-U3-G1). The bollard therefore also lights its own canopy and the space above it; it does not direct light only down onto the path. Construction and use Hot-dip zinc protects the steel against corrosion without a paint layer. The diffuser and the gasket are available as spare parts: diffuser service kit 06280007 and gasket 08280014. The bollard weighs 2.5 kg net. Norlys designs it for gardens and terraces. It also suits park paths, hotel and restaurant terraces, and pavements along a street.Show more
