The s.luce Orb is a pendant light with a single glass globe 20 cm across, hung on a white suspension with a white ceiling rose. The glass is smoked with a gradient: dark grey and mirrored at the top, lightening towards the bottom until it is clear.The glass and what shows through itThe globes are mouth-blown, which is why the manufacturer calls every piece unique - the run of the gradient and small differences in glass thickness do not repeat exactly between two pieces. Anyone ordering two or three for one room should count on that.The lower part of the globe is clear, so the bulb shows through it and becomes part of how the light looks. The darker top hides the lampholder and sends more of the light downwards.Bulb and dimmingThe lampholder is an E27 for one light point, rated up to 40 W. No bulb is included - it is chosen separately. The fitting is dimmable, but the manufacturer qualifies that: it works only with a bulb made for dimming; an ordinary non-dimmable LED will not dim even on a dimmer.Size and suspensionThe globe measures 20 cm across and the suspension reaches 150 cm at most - a figure to compare with the ceiling height and with how low the light is meant to hang. The whole fitting weighs 2,22 kg. Cable and ceiling rose are white and read less against a pale ceiling than a dark suspension would.Where it can hangIP20 covers no moisture, so the fitting is meant for dry interiors.
