TRYSIL 1018AL is a three-metre park lantern from Norlys in an aluminium finish, with two light modules giving 3277 lm in total and control by DALI2 with NightDim. Three metres – a column, not a luminaire This is not a lamp to fit on an existing pole: TRYSIL stands 300 cm tall and is a complete, free-standing structure to be anchored into ground or concrete. At 118 cm across the arms and 24 cm deep it takes real space – an object for an avenue, a driveway, a courtyard or a large garden, not for a narrow path. The anchor is not included. The manufacturer states plainly that mounting accessories are bought separately: mounting adapter (index 1259), ground anchor (180) or concreting anchor (3091). It is an item easily forgotten at ordering time, and without it the lantern cannot be erected. Twin optics and a Type V lens The lantern is double – it has two light points. It uses a Ledil VSM lens, corresponding to the IESNA Type V classification: symmetric all-round distribution. That is the right distribution for squares, path junctions and open spaces, where light should go evenly in every direction rather than along one axis as with street lanterns. The BUG classification B2-U2-G1 describes how much light escapes the target: G1 is a low glare level, U2 a moderate upward emission – worth checking if the project sits in a zone with light-pollution requirements. 140.6 lm/W and NightDim control Drawing 23.3 W, the luminaire emits 3277 lm, which is 140.6 lm/W – a very high efficacy for an outdoor fitting. The LED module itself draws 19.7 W and generates 3382 lm (171.7 lm/W); the difference is losses in the optics and the driver. DALI2 allows the lantern to join a whole installation's control system, while NightDim is autonomous dimming through the small hours – no central unit, no control wiring. For an object that burns from dusk to dawn, it is the simplest route to cutting consumption in the hours when nobody passes. 3000 K is warm – gentler on surroundings and insects than 4000 K. A colour rendering index of CRI 70 is standard for outdoor lighting, and colour consistency between units is given as SDCM5. Power factor PF 0.95, THD 7%. Life and resistance Rated life is L70B50 > 100,000 h – at roughly 12 hours a day that is over twenty years to a 30% drop in output. The cover is clear polycarbonate, the body painted aluminium profile. Ingress protection IP65 (fully dust tight, resistant to water jets) and impact resistance IK10 – the highest grade, equivalent to a 20 J blow. On a lantern standing in public space that is not a decorative figure. Protection class I requires an earth conductor. Operating range: −20 to +45 °C. Connection The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 4 mm², and looping further lanterns through in a run up to 5 × 2.5 mm². The permitted round-cable diameter is at most 13.6 mm. Inrush current is 21 A over 225 µs, which should be taken into account when sizing protection for a longer run.
