V-TAC VT-857-B Garden Spike Spotlight LED 12W 4000K 875lm Black, IP65

A spotlight on a spike — light without drilling VT-857-B is a garden spotlight fixed by pushing a spike into the ground — no foundation, no plugs, no holes in the façade. The black aluminium body sits in a yoke that lets the head tilt so the beam points where it is needed: at a tree trunk, a section of wall, a shrub, or a house number. At the end of the season the fitting can be pulled out and moved elsewhere, which in a maturing garden is an advantage in itself. A narrow 20° beam — this is not a lawn light The beam angle is 20 degrees, roughly that of a theatre spotlight. Such optics draw a distinct column of light on a wall or trunk and bring out the texture of bark, brick or render — but they do not spread light across a surface. Paths and driveways need wide-beam fittings; VT-857-B is for accenting individual objects. A practical note: the closer to the base of a tree the spotlight stands, the longer and sharper the pattern it throws up the trunk. Light data, and what the EPREL register adds The built-in COB LED draws 12 W and gives 875 lm at a neutral 4000 K, at about 75 lm/W. The EU energy-label register EPREL (number 1163895, model 217545) fills in several things the datasheet omits: the fitting is not dimmable, its standby consumption is 0 W, the lumen maintenance factor is 0.96, and colour consistency is SDCM 6. That last figure has a practical consequence: set several units in a row and their whites may differ slightly from one another. Colour rendering is CRI 80, with the red component R9 at 16 — red flowers and brick will look less saturated than under a high-R9 fitting. Durability and supply Ingress protection IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets — rain, a rinse from the garden hose and snow are no problem, but the fitting must not be submerged (that calls for IP67/IP68). It runs on 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz through a factory tail leaving the back of the body with live, neutral and earth cores — the joint to the garden circuit belongs in a weatherproof box. The manufacturer states 15,000 switching cycles, energy class G and a 2-year warranty. Dimensions and installation The whole fitting is 25.5 cm tall including the spike and 7.3 cm wide, and weighs 0.46 kg. The spike pushes into soft ground by hand or with light foot pressure; in compacted clay it is better to make a pilot hole with a rod so the bracket does not bend. The tilt of the head is set with the screw in the yoke — once tightened the position holds, gusts included.
